Music Dept. Holds Concert
The Maine West Music Department presented a mid‑winter band concert last Sunday, February 9, at 3 p.m. in the auditorium.

Concert Band played "Amparito Roca," a Spanish dance, by Jaime Texidor; "Jubilance" by Caesar Giovannini; Mozart's "The Magic Flute‑Overture"; and "Night Soliloquy," a solo, played by the flute section leader, Leslie Rusch, by Kent Kennan. Other songs were "Tubby the Tuba" by Kleinsinger, which featured a solo on the tuba by Tim Keenly; Jo Philip Sousa's "Washington Post March," and "Goober Peas," a comical arrangement, by Robert Jager.
A few selections performed by Jazz Band were "Gotta Get Away," Dirty Fork," and "Caroline Encounters Tom Swift and His Marvelous Electric Jazz‑Rock Machine."

The combined Cadet‑Intermediate Bands played such songs as "Keifer's Special March," "Symphonic Overture," "Beguine for Shimmering Flutes," and "Quartz Mountain."

"Cuernevaca" and "Misty" were presented by the Maine West Jazz Combo.
