JV Swimmers Win South Division Title
The tankers ended their dualmeet schedule this past weekend with a win-loss record of 7-6. The varsity lost against New Trier East, 46-123, on February 6, and also lost to Deerfield, 61-97, on February 7.

Against New Trier East the only firsts were taken by George Ericksen '75 in the butterfly and in the free style relay consisting of Ericksen, Jim Ritzema '76, Doug Benton '75, and Dave Gafrick '76. The only firsts earned against Deerfield were by Jerry Paulsen '76 in the diving and by Ericksen in the individual medley and backstroke.

The junior varsity tankmen swam against Deerfield on February 7 and won, 97-72. The junior varsity squad won the division and was undefeated with seven wins.
The sophomores swam New Trier East on February 6 and lost, 77-93. The freshmen also lost, but to Deerfield, 93-76, on February 5.

The freshman conference meet was held on February 8 at New Trier West. Maine West placed fifth out of 11 teams. Ron Rausch '78 won the butterfly, swimming a 27.3 while breaking the freshman school record and also breaking the conference record. The other outstanding performance was swum by Randy Roel '78, who placed first in the backstroke.

The varsity and sophomore conference meets will be held tonight and tomorrow, respectively, at Glenbrook South.
