Girls' Basketball Starts Tuesday
The girls' basketball team readies itself for its first home game against New Trier West on February 18. The gymnastics season came to a close with the league meet at Niles North on January 31. The badminton team has just started its season as the new team has been chosen.

The newly chosen basketball team, headed by Coach Connie Bauman, has a promising future. The new team members include Ann Arnold '78, Gayle Bellon '77, Ruth Bernick '75, Kathy Bogner '77, Chris Cwiakala '77, Mary Fisher '76, Kim Friend '75, Jan Heyse '75, Cathy Huntoon '77, Sue Kelly '78, Cheryl Lange '76, and Nancy Parrotte '77.

Others include Karen Plaut '78, Alicia Roeder '78, Sue Sharbough '77, Jean Sharbough '78, Louise Sieben '77, Jo Ann Stanonis '76, Karen Stocco '78, Sue Sykora '78, Jan Veit '76, Nancy Webber '78, Irene Weingartner '78, and Gayle Zbikowski '78.
The girls' gymnastics team had nine gymnasts participate in the Central Suburban League Meet, held to declare the conference champions. Those who competed were Nancy Caccitore '77 in vaulting with a 6.0, and Sandy Dolatowski '78, who also competed in vaulting.

Dottie Gallucci '76, who competed in all four events with scores of 5.8 in the vault area, 4.3 on balance beam, 4.15 on uneven parallel bars, and 7.7 in the floor area.

Joan Delaet '76 earned a 5.2 on balance beam along with Noreen Barry '75, who achieved a 5.4. Ellen Vana '75 competed in the floor exercise event with Jill Heiden '77, with Ellen scoring an 8.2 and Jill a 7.8.

The finals were held the very next day, and Ellen competed for Maine West and achieved an 8.0. She was the only gymnast Maine West had placed in the finals. Maine West came in ninth place out of 11 schools in the final team standings. Niles West earned the conference championship.
