Wrestlers Finish With 12-3 Record
The varsity wrestlers finished off their regular season losing two of their last three meets but ending with a fine record of 12-3. The wrestlers lost in a close battle with Maine South, 22-20. It was a close meet all the way through and was decided in the final match.
Winners for the Warriors were Rob Krusinski '76, Bryan Real '75, Brad Bonnivier '75, Tom Krauser '77, and Roger Herrera '75. The junior varsity and sophomore teams both won. The junior varsity took a close decision, 23-22, and the sophomores won, 30-23.
The next day the wrestlers went to Niles North and won by the tremendous score of 58‑0.
The sophomore team had a little bit more trouble than the varsity, but they still won, 34-23. Last week the varsity ran into a tough New Trier West team and lost, 24-19.
The junior varsity and sophomore teams both won rather easily, junior varsity winning, 42-27, and the sophomores, 41-20. The freshman team lost to Maine South but beat both Niles North and New Trier West.
The varsity team will be wrestling tonight and tomorrow for districts which are being held at home in the Rider Gym.
