Math Contest Involves West
Students in accelerated and Advanced Math III and IV will participate in the Math Contest offered by the Math Association of America starting Tuesday, March 11, during first and second periods.

The students eligible for the contest will be involved in an 80‑minute test. The top 50 scorers will go on to take another test. Out of those 50 the three top scores will represent Maine West in finding out just where the school stands.
In the past years Maine West has been rated as one of the top 10 in the country.

Mr. Thomas Keane, contest organizer, states, "The purpose of the' test is to further and promote excellence in math, and also the purpose of the Math Association of America is to point out different fields in mathematics."
