Junior Varsity Places First
At Conference Swim Meet
At Conference Swim Meet
The varsity swimmers had their conference and district meets the past two weekends. The varsity swimmers placed ninth out of 11 teams in their conference meet. The only swimmer who placed individually was George Ericksen '75, who placed sixth in the backstroke.
The swim team placed sixth out of 13 teams in the district swim meet held at Glenbrook South. The only swimmers who placed in the top six were Ericksen, who placed sixth in the backstroke, and Tom Ptach '77, who placed fifth in the 500 free.

Coach Darrell Green commented, "This was a very disappointing meet - not only because no one qualified for state, but because almost everyone did not do their best times."

Swimming firsts were Jim Ritzema '76 in the 200 free; Ptach in the individual medley and 500 free; the medley relay team, consisting of Mark Ericksen '76, Jim Stenstrom '76, Dave Gafrick '76, and Casey Schlachter '76; and the free relay team.
