Over the past few months many changes were made at Maine West.
Improvements were made on the existing drainage in the athletic fields, which make it more functional. Broken parts were replaced.
The pool and auditorium roofs were resurfaced to prevent leakage. Moisture was beginning to collect between the surface of the roof and the superstructure. New insulation was added along with the waterproofing of the roof.
The auditorium was repainted to give it a theatre look. The colors are blue to various shades of red. Darker shades begin in the back and then become lighter as they

proceed to the front to draw more attention to the stage. New seat covers were placed on many of the chairs.
Tiles in the main office and around the rotunda downstairs were replaced. All ceilings in wing gyms were painted.
The bus concourse and doors near it were painted blue. All cement and flashing which runs across the roof of the building and gutters were sandblasted. All roads and parking lots on school grounds were resurfaced during the summer.
Fencing was installed along Oakton Street by the girls athletic field to prevent balls from going into the street.
