Tennis Team Loses
The Maine West girls' tennis team was defeated Sept. 23 by a tough playing Maine South team by a score of 4‑3.
In the singles event Nancy Webber was the only member of the team to win her game. She took her match with a 6-love, 7-5 score. Losing in a close match was Nancy Habetler with 4-6, 6-4, and 5-7 scores.

In the doubles matches Maine West took two out of three matches. In the first game Karen Kiester and Laurie Meissner won their match with an impressive 6-love, 6-3 score. In a close game Cathy Huntoon and Jane Krauser went on to win their match 2-6, 6‑3, 6‑1.
On the junior varsity level Maine West lost 1-6, winning only one game out of seven. Winning their match was Man Ellen Salerno and Donna Schultz with a 6-3, 7-6 score.
The team's next meet is against Niles East at Niles East on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 4:30 p.m.
