MW Hosts Students
In case you've been wondering who the new faces were walking around Maine West, they were exchange students and hosts from Roanke and Metamora, Illinois.
Torsten Johansson, Dave Mangold, Sandy Schertz, Lelie Maldonado were overwhelmed by the size of Maine West and all its facilities. They all come from smaller schools.
Torsten and Lelie are also AFS students at their schools. Torsten from Sweden and Lelie from Paraguay.

When the four arrived Wednesday they immediately got acquainted with many Maine West students at a party thrown for them. Since then they've attended a pot luck dinner, and a black school tour. The tour was to a school almost 100 per cent black. They enjoyed that visit very much.
The student exchange program now in its second year is sponsored by Ms. Karen Pflederer, English teacher.
