VOL. XVII, NO. 10
By LINDA SCHMALBECK
Spring has arrived, and again Maine West's students busily prepare for the season. But spring, like everything else in life, has its advantages and disadvantages.
A few of the good things that happen in spring are:
- a young man's fancy
- spring vacation
- the excitement of the elections
- the warm weather (fresh air in the johns again!)
- not wearing heavy coats, clothes, or boots
- going to Florida and coming back with the darkest tan
- buying new light clothes
- seeing green again
- spring sports
- driving with the windows down and the radio on LOUD
- going outside for gym and not freezing to death
- the end of third quarter
- Girl's Choice Dance
- buying a spring formal
- weddings, graduations, and the parties that follow them
- knowing bikini season is just around the corner
- going on picnics
- waking up at 6 a.m. and having the sunshine in your room
- the warm romantic evenings
- wearing less clothing
- fire drills in the warm weather
- walking instead of riding in a car or taking the bus
- Proms
- knowing the end of school is getting closer.
