Language Dept. To Hold Fair
The Maine West Language Department is in the process of making plans for the first annual International Fair. The fair will be held in the cafeteria, L-101, and the auditorium on Saturday, Apr. 24, from 10a.m. until 3p.m.
The purpose of the fair is fourfold: to promote international understanding, to promote the study of foreign languages, to raise money for the AFS and the language clubs, and to provide students with a program in which large numbers of them will find an event in which they can participate and have a good time.
There will be many different booths, restaurants, and games of all types, sponsored by various clubs.
French Club and French classes plan to have a flea market, a French cafe, and can-can dancers. They also plan to sell tee-shirts with French sayings written on them.
Anyone wishing to donate items for the flea market (except clothes) may bring them to Mrs. Susan Masellis, French teacher, in A‑217.
For a taste of Germany, bratwurst and pretzels will be sold by German Club and German classes. A maypole dance and an oomp‑pa‑pa band will also be sponsored by the German Club. Also, the Home Economics Club will be selling tacos.
