Girls' Basketball Finishes Season
This year's Maine West girls' basketball team concluded its season on Wednesday, Mar, 24. The game was held at Glenbrook South. The girls have had a very hard and trying season.
The team played its two most recent games on Wednesday and Thursday, Mar. 17 and 18. On Wednesday the varsity played Niles East and lost 33 to 58. The junior varsity won 30 to 28. Varsity offensive high scorers were Karen Gafrick, scoring 15 points; Nancy Habtler, 11 points; and Sue Kelly, 15 points. Defensive players taking rebounds were Sue Kelly and Nancy Habtler taking 7 and 10 rebounds.

Maine West played Niles North on Mar. 18. The varsity won with a score of 51 to 49. The defensive rebound stealers were Nancy Habtler getting 15 rebounds. Offensive players who had high scores were Nancy Haptler, also scoring 11 points, and Robin Stocco, who scored 9 points.
