Thespian Society To Present
'Our Town'
The dramatic play, Our Town, will be presented in the Maine West auditorium on May 13, 14, and 15. Tickets for the play are now on sale for $2. Tickets may be purchased from members of the cast, the Speech Team, members of the Thespian Society, or at the bookstore.
The play is a story of two families in Grover's Corners, New Hampshire. It's about the way people were at the turn of the century, how they grew, how they married, how they lived, and how they died.
The play is narrated by the stage manager, played by Steve Pelinski '77. He tells us the story of Emily Webb, played by Megan Peterson '77, and her love for George Gibbs, played by Joe Anderson '76.
Among the others in the cast are Bruce Weaver '77 and Sandy Scheffel '76 (Mr. and Mrs. Webb), Jim Evans '77 and Betsy Forkins '76 (Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs), Dick Lindberg '78 (playing Joe Crowell), George Gatsis '76 (Howie Newsome), Kathleen Sandford '78 (Rebecca Gibbs), Vince Shultz '79 (Wally Webbs), Kevin Marquette '78 (Prof. Willard), Stan Lata '76 (Simon Stinson), Carrie Mack '76 (Mrs. Soames). John Jones '77 (Warren), Tom Koontz '77 (Sam Craig), and Scott Peckenpaugh '76 (Joe Stoddard). The director of the play is Mr. Daryl Schultz.
"The Maine West production and direction of the play is excellent," said Betsy Forkins. "I think the play is the most beautifully written story I've ever read."
