Alone Again
By MARY GARDNER

How can you just sit
and watch time pass by.
Your whole life spent there,
staring endlessly
out a small dirty window,
watching Mother Nature.
You never speak,
only to yourself.
And you finally realize
you're lonely.
But it's all self‑pity,
so you cry.
For the first time
you need to reach out.
But find no one there.
So you ask
"Why can't I have it better?"
