International Fair Coming Saturday
Plans for the first annual International Fair are nearing completion. The fair will be held this Saturday, Apr. 24, from 10 am. until 3 p.m. in the Rotunda area.
The cost is $.30 for a passport to enter the fair, and from there persons may go to the international bank and exchange their money for pretend foreign money. With this foreign money, (francs, marks or pesos) persons may be able to purchase items on sale at the fair, for the people at the booths will accept only "foreign money" and no real money.
Many Maine West clubs are participating in the fair. The Spanish Club will have a Mexican crafts sale. Some craft items are imported from Mexico. There will also be Spanish dancers.
The French Club will sell teeshirts with sayings on them and will have can‑can dancers. Also French Club will have a French restaurant and a flea market.
The German Club will have a maypole and an oomp‑pa‑pa band. Science Club will sell helium‑filled, blue and gold balloons. Other clubs participating in the fair are International Club, Computer Club, DECA, and Home Economics Club. One of the main attractions will be the crowning of the International Fair queen at 2:45 in the auditorium.
Some of the games will be pick a pop, ring toss, and bean bag toss.
