American Legion Tests MW Students
The Des Plaines American Legion Post No. 36 and the Maine West Social Science Department are sponsoring the fortieth annual Constitution Contest at Maine West. The test will be given first period this Thursday in the cafeteria.

The contest is open to all Maine West students. To enter, interested students obtained entry forms from members of the Social Science Department. These forms had to be returned by Monday, Apr. 12.
The first test, in which all entrants will participate, is an objective test on the Constitution written by MW's Americanism Committee. Members of the10 highest scorers on this test will advance to the final oral examination on Thursday. Apr. 29. Each finalist will be tested for about 10 minutes on his interpretation and practical application of the Constitution by a panel of judges chosen by the Des Plaines American Legion.

The winner of this competition will have his or her name inscribed on the winners' plaque in the library. The two top scorers will also receive cash awards of $200 and $100.
