Girls' Badminton Wins CSL Title
The varsity girls badminton team finished its season on a triumphant note by taking the Central Suburban League South championship at the division meet Mar. 25-26 with a high score of 23 points.
"We had a fine team of experienced players this year," commented badminton coach, Miss Royleen Tipton. "I knew we could win it."
Several varsity members also earned individual recognition this season. First singles player, Karen Keister: third singles player, Robin Downing: and fourth singles player, Barb Klein, won individual championships in their respective divisions while league runnersup included first doubles team, Evelyn Johnson and Jane Krauser, and third doubles team, Barb Breider and Laurie Meissner. Other varsity members this year are Jenny Bruns, Denise Gosler, and Beth Reinke.

The junior varsity clinched second place in the Central Suburban League South at the tournament. JV members include Linda Bergles, Terhilda Garrido, Yolitzma Garrido, Jean Grubert, Beth Grygo, Teresa Grygo, Margie Hahn, Karolyn Hatz, Leanne Larocca, Sue Lindeman, Carolyn Miller, Debbie Oller, Debbie Walter, and Marianne Wielgos.
"I think that everyone was pleased with the way the girls played during the season," concluded Miss Tipton on the performance of the team. "It was a very successful season."
