Orchesis Dance Club Walks in Rhythm
The annual Orchesis Show is approaching on May 7 and 8. The theme of this year's dance show is "Walking In Rhythm." The performance features demonstrations of interpretative, jazz, folk, and modern dance as well as the ever familiar ballet. The show will be held at 8 p.m. in the auditorium, and the tickets are $1.
Orchesis is the name given to the modern dance club. Members are chosen every fall. They are judged on their ability to perform a certain dance taught by the officers and two‑year members of the club. The club dances at two basketball games as well as selling candy to raise money for their show. Sometime in May the club will have a potluck dinner in the cafeteria, where the new officers will be announced.
This year's officers are Debbie Lambert '76, president; Joann Siska '76, vice‑president; and Paulette Loch '76, secretary. Any student (boy or girl) is welcome to try out; no past dance experience is needed.
Members of this year's Orchesis Club are Linda Blaski '77, Mary Doroba '79, Renee Engels '76, Claudia Judy '76, Corinna Karpiel '77, Terri Kehe 77, Anne Kuite '76, Debbie Lambert '76, Connie Latson '77, Cathy Lawlor '76, Paulette Loch '76, Barb Loris '77, Cyndy Schurr '77, Janet Seitz '76, Joann Siska '76, Lynn Vanderhoof '77, and Nancy Wilson.
