My Turn
Graduation Is Confusing
By THOM O'DONNELL
MW's Senior Class is taking a beating from the District 207 Administration, the Student Council, and nearly all concerned with the final few days before graduation.
Mandatory attendance has been established for the Honors Assembly and the Baccalaureate. School District 207 decided this for us, rather than have the seniors vote as is usual for other years.
Each year the winners of the Senior Superlatives are announced at the Senior Dessert. No word has been given by Student Council, Class Council, or anyone involved whether we will even have Senior Superlatives this year.
Perhaps these are only a few of the ways Maine West is getting in their last licks on the Class of '76. They might even have more b.s. planned for us, to punish us beforehand for all the senior pranks they expect us to do.
No one, it seems, will decide if seniors will sit with their marching partners, or sit by height, or sit who‑knows‑where. Even the dates of the senior ditch days have been spread only by rumors and counter-rumors.
Sooner or later, someone will get on the ball and announce a few of these details, but let's all hope that it's sooner than later.
