VOL. XVII, NO. 13
Sophomore Class To Hold
Spirited Car Wash
The Class of '78 has proved to be one of the most spirited and close‑knit classes that Maine West has seen for a long time. The sophomores have shown the school their spirit and pep by winning the spirit jug all four times this year and winning the Homecoming float two years in a row. The Sophomore Class president got a pie in the face at one of the pep assemblies this year. The sophomore cheerleading squad won the window painting contest during Homecoming this past year.
Although the Sophomore Class does have vitality and enthusiasm, they are short on money. There are many events coming up in the next two years that will require money. These events include: Junior Prom, Senior Prom, and the Senior Dessert.
One of the fund raising activities the Sophomore Class has planned is a car wash for May 22. Many of the details have not yet been worked out for this event, but more information will be announced at a later date.
Mr. Keith Robinson, Sophomore Class sponsor, commented, "We need as many volunteers as we can get. Even if you can only come and volunteer one hour, we would really appreciate it."
If any sophomore is not able to assist in the car wash, he can participate in the fund raising program with the Fuller Brush Company that will be underway soon.
Hopefully the Class of '78 will once again show their vigor and activeness by supporting the fund raising programs that will take place in the next two years.
