March of Dimes Will Sponsor Walkathon
Walkathon

The March of Dimes Foundation is sponsoring a walkathon to fight birth defects on Sunday, May 16. The walkathon begins at 9 am, at Prospect High School. Sponsor forms are available in the Student Council Office.

A.P. Tests

Advanced Placement testing will be held during the week of May 17-21. The English test will be given Monday, calculus on Tuesday, U.S. history and biology Wednesday, European history Thursday, and chemistry and Spanish on Friday.

U.S. Navy Steel Band

The U.S. Navy Steel Band will give a concert at the Lake Park band shell on May 28 at 7:30p.m.

Wallet Returned

A wallet containing $18 and no identification was lost by paraprofessional Mrs. Ruth Currer. The wallet was later turned in to the P.O. and returned to Mrs. Currer completely intact.

Memorial

Two books, The Wonders of Wildlife in America and The National Parks of America, edited and published by Outdoor Life, have been presented to the library as a Ronald Bahr memorial by his neighbors. Ronald was killed in a train accident on April 22.

Awards Night

The Art Department Awards Night will be held Tuesday, May 18, at 7:30p.m. in the cafeteria.

Dr. Ladd

Dr. Norman Ladd, math teacher, recently presented two workshops at the convention of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics in Atlanta, Georgia. The workshops dealt with the utilization of computers and calculators in math classes.

Senior Finals

Final examinations for seniors will be held during regular class periods on Friday, May 28, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 1 and 2.

Final Exams

Final exams for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, June 8, 9, and 10. Tuesday tests will be periods 3, 6, and 8: Wednesday, periods 1, 5, and 7; and Thursday, periods 2, 4, and 9.

It's Academic

Mr. Daniel Silkowski's second period class has challenged Miss Karen Pflederer's first period class to an It's Academic contest during first period, May 26, in PAR. Students who normally use PAR during first period are invited to attend this session.

Bike Marathon Results

The money collected from the Paul and Paula Revere Bike Marathon held May 1 totaled approximately $625. Three‑fourths of this was given to the American Cancer Society, and the other fourth was donated to the Des Plaines Historical Society. Rollyn Meyers '76, whose rode 67'/z miles, won a trophy for riding the longest. Sue Hanson '77 received a trophy for earning the largest amount of donations totaling $145.
