Fatma Karahasan Says
Goodbye To School Here
By FATMA KARAHASAN

The whole year is gone now the nicest year of my life. It means going back for me, leaving everybody here and going. I am really sad because there are friends here who never let me feel homesick. There are teachers and directors who understood my difficulties and always tried to help me. Now it is time to say goodbye.

I feel sorry that I could not go to Maine West for a longer period of time. It is very modern, and the students have the opportunity to do lots of things.

One of my favorite towns is Des Plaines. I said many times to lots of people that I always hoped to live in a house with a backyard. I wanted to go to little towns, because I hated the big, busy cities and tall buildings and being like a robot.
When I saw a squirrel on one of the trees my first day, I almost jumped because they are only in the parks and the woods in my country.

I am happy, too. I am going to see my parents, my two little sisters, my friends, and homeland which I love very much.

Well! Goodbye everybody! No, I do not think I can say goodbye. Maybe one day in the future (I hope soon) I will talk about these days.

Thank you very much for a great A.F.S. year. So long. It would be great to see you in my homeland.
