J. Lofgren Sums up The Year
The 1975-76 Student Council officers and members felt we had a very good year. We fluctuated like every Student Council does. Occasionally we had our ups and downs. Generally, we started off the year strong with Dialtone, the Freshman PTC Party, and calendars. Our most outstanding activity of the year was Homecoming Week. Many felt that it was the best Homecoming in Maine West's history. It brought out the spirit that most students seem to hide the rest of the year. Student Council also sponsored this year's V-Show, which proved to be a success. We worked during the winter months on Christmas card delivery, the Christmas Formal, Non-Smokers Week, Valentine card delivery, and Secret Admirer's Day. This spring we handled the Girl's Choice Dance and Student Council and Class Council elections.. To sum up the year, our most successful project was the Homecoming festivities.
As president of this year's Student Council, I would like to thank all of the people who helped to make the 1975-76 Student Council a great success. A special thanks goes to Mrs. Mary Smitham and Mr. Erv Geisler, Student Council sponsors, who put much time and effort into helping us plan our activities.
Jim Lofgren, President
