At the Honors Assembly this morning 19 students received awards for their accomplishments in specific departments.

The Departmental Awards are given to seniors in the various departments on the basis of scholastic achievements and all around school citizenship. The departments are allowed to give two awards, if this many seems appropriate to the department.

Each student who receives an award in a department must have completed at least three years work in that department. Scholastic averages are then computed by adding all the grades for their work taken in the department during the entire four years of high school. No student can receive more than one award.

The awards will be presented by the chairman of each of the departments.

The two speakers will be chosen by the students in the top one per cent of the class known as Maine Scholars.
