School Hosts Workshops
Maine West is hosting consumer education workshops on the evenings of Oct. 7 and 14 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The Illinois Office of Education and Illinois Consumer Education Association are co‑sponsors.

This in‑service education program is to assist teachers in the improvement and expansion of their Consumer Education programs.

This is one of six workshops being held throughout the state. Teachers from the entire north suburban area will attend.
Topics will include Consumer Education in Illinois, discussed by Ms. Gladys Bahr; Consumer Action and Social Change, by Mr. Les Daboy; Universal Product Care, by Ms. Dorothy Johnson; Teaching Insurance, Ms. Estelle Holzen and Mr. Sid Drain; and Consumer's Role in Our Economy, by Ms. Joyce Miller. The local chairperson is Mrs. Ann Sortal of the Business Education Department.
