VOL. XVII, NO. 2
By MARY GARDNER
Life is climbing stairs that never end
Traveling roads that never bend.
Life is walking fast and walking straight
Learning love and learning hate.
Life is taking new exciting chances
Avoiding stares and avoiding glances.
Life is telling others what you think
And watching their faces and seeing it sink.
Life is made of learning new things
Learning the sorrow that loneliness brings.
Life is wanting to love and not knowing how
Wanting to take with no giving now.
Life is reaching out for someone to care
And finding no one will even dare.
Life is feeling his hand hold yours tight
Hoping he loves you knowing he might.
