West Students Make Halloween Plans
By JULIE GUTZMER
On the eve of Nov. 1 children in many lands dress as goblins or as witches, knocking on doors to announce "trick or treat," soap windows of schools, stores, and t.p. the trees. Some children tear down mailboxes and give the police a great many headaches with their juvenile vandalism. It is a time when young people "let off steam."
The students of Maine West have already made plans to "let off steam" this Halloween. Scott Gibbert '76 and his friends plan on having a good time in the toilet paper aisle at the nearest grocery store. While the mad t-pers are out, Kent Wainscott '76 plans on giving his father the police department's telephone number.
Timmy Coombs '79 plans to attend a scavenger hunt in search for hidden razor blades. Some students will be going out of town during Halloween. Patti Molitor '77 is going to Western Illinois University to visit her favorite pumpkin. Glen Watson '76 and Diane Buckles '77 will be in the pumpkin patch waiting for the great pumpkin to arrive.
Carol Jacobsen '76 plans on buying a crate of shaving cream to visit upon Gregg Koeller '76. Linda Jacobsen '77 plans on assisting Carol in their Halloween festivities. Sandy Douglas '78 plans to attend a Halloween party. That will surely keep her out of trouble.
Mr. Ralph Murdy, business education teacher, plans on riding his new bicycle dressed as a jack‑o‑lantern. Wayne Wishnew '77 and friends are stopping by the nearest chicken farm to scramble some eggs.
