Maine West Archery Team Takes First
The Maine West girls' archery team continued its undefeated season when they captured the first place title in the six school invitational meet held at Maine West last Friday.
Scoring 1,470 points, Maine West edged second place Glenbrook North with 1,417 points. With 1,387 points, Ridgewood was awarded third.
Others participating in this meet were Niles East, Lake Park, and Fenton High Schools.
Out of 36 girls, Leslie Blietz, one of Maine West's leading contenders, was awarded the first place individual trophy with her score of 392; shots were taken from both 20 and 30 yards.

Barb Brieder, captain of the Warrior team, shot six consecutive bullseyes or a "perfect end" to come out with 380 total points to place third.
Cheryl DeMichele finished sixth with 362 points as her score.
Donna Jones, Cindy Tomasewski, and Sue Schwingbeck were the other Maine West archers who added to the Warriors' winning score.
