Girls Swim To Victory
The Maine West girls' varsity swim team completed another victory on October 15 against Niles East. The meet was held at Niles West. The outcome of the score was 131 to 36.

High point scorers were Sue Bowersox taking first place in the 100 free style and the 100 breast stroke, Sue Sullivan in the 200 free style and in the 100 backstroke taking first in both, and Dawn Ericksen placing first in the 200 IM, diving, and the free style.

Mary Kay Gerhart took first in the I.M. diving. Arlene Mundt placed first for the 100 butterfly. Donna Carstens received first for the 500 free style, and for the 200 medley relay Sue Bowersox, Dawn Ericsen, and Maureen Moeller brought in first place.
Girls who took second place were Mary Baumhart, Terri Androff, Denise Carstens, Robin Downing, Julie Stoneburner, Donna Carstens, Chris Schneider, Debbie Walter, Carol Johnson, and Nancy Parrotte took second place twice.

Other scorers were Cathy Bock, Gina Pavese, Robbin Downing, Daren Niehaus, and Karen Plaut.

The league meet was held Oct. 18. Maine West competed against Glenbrook South, Glenbrook North, Niles North, Niles East, Niles West, Maine South, and Maine East. Maine West came in fourth place.
