Newspaper Changes
Arouse Pessimism
Our school is one of respect for the right of individuals to express their own views. This may be done through the newspaper, the radio, or over the loud speaker.

Most issues presented to the student body are accepted and then forgotten. One of the major, opinionated columns in our newspaper is Viewpoint. This article may be found in each issue on Page 4. The sports editor, Sue Szilagyi, is the creator of this article. In it she expresses and explains different procedures which she may have begun to use.

In one of her articles she pointed out the fact that winning teams should be played up and losing teams should be played down. Many students and faculty, however, opposed this idea which was taken from suggestions made by Quill and Scroll, the international honorary society for high school journalists.
This reaction to our new method is quite reasonable for it's only human nature to always want to be on top.

Since it's impossible, though, to keep all sports on the top of the page, some must be placed elsewhere.

We strive to capture all sports events possible, keeping our limited amount of space in mind.

The staff does appreciate comments from our readers, and we hope that our changes in format will improve our quality, as well as continue to please our readers.
