VOL. XVII, NO. 4

Underclassmen as well as seniors think about college. "Where should I go? What should I take? What will it cost?"
A college education costs plenty nowadays - more than many people can afford. For this reason, many students ask the state and federal governments for help.
Many fail to realize, however, that another way to save college cash is to score college credit before actually going to college. Through advanced placement classes and the College Level Examination Program, a student may actually place out of the freshman year.
CLEP gives tests once a month at various locations. Folders describing the test are available in the Career Resource Center from Mr. James Killam, career counselor.
CLEP does not give college credit. Individual colleges and universities do that. CLEP does measure the student's ability in certain areas and recommends the student to learning institutes.
Tests are given in many different areas of knowledge, and they cost only $10 per test. For much less than $100, an intelligent student may bypass the entire freshman year. Check it out.
