Sue Bowersox Proves Her
Swimming Talent
This week's outstanding Warrior athlete is swimmer Sue Bowersox. Sue is this year's captain of the girls' varsity swim team. Coach Mrs. Terry Milam says Sue's success is due to hard work, concern for the team, and determination.
"Sue is concerned for team members as individuals," said Mrs. Milam, "as well as the team as a whole." Sue has taken first place in all the dual meets the team has participated in. Her main events are the 200‑yard medley relay, 50‑yard free style, and 100‑yard breaststroke.
Sue was a competitor for Maine West at the state meet last weekend. Her road to the state meet was accomplished by her excellent placement at both the conference meet and at the district meet. The state meet was the first held for girls swimming, and Sue qualified for all three of her main events.
Sue commented. "This year I've gotten really close to the coach and a lot of the girls on the team. I hope I've helped them as much as they've helped me."
