Speech Department Attends Convention
Members of the Maine West Speech Department, Mr. Daryl Schultz, Ms. Nancy Santori, Mr. Bruce Nelson, and Ms. Mariann Sullivan, attended the 1975 convention of the Illinois Speech and Theatre Association held Nov. 7-9 at Stouffer's Riverfront Towers in St. Louis.
The purpose of the convention was to provide Illinois teachers of speech communication and theatre arts at the secondary, junior college, and senior college levels with opportunities to share experiences and to exchange teaching methods, materials, and research findings.
The theme of the convention was "A Time to Reflect, a Time to Assess, and a Time to Progress." The annual convention provides sectional meetings in such areas as communication theory, creative dramatics, debate, film, linguistics, oral interpretation, public address, radio and television, rhetorical theory, and theatre.
