ACT Names Illinois State Scholars
This year Maine West is proud to have a number of students chosen as Illinois State Scholars by the Illinois State Scholarship Commission. To be eligible students had to take an examination administered by the American College Testing Program.
The seniors receiving this year's award are Helen Androff, William Aslan, Robert Bahr, Richard Becker, Howard Blietz, Gayle Breuscher, Jennifer Bruns, Nancy Burke, Deborah Carlino, Julia Claus, Kathryn Dalenberg, William Danielson, Karen Degenhardt, Mark Erickson, Clarence Falstad, Thomas Fischer, Daniel Foreman, Elizabeth Forkins, Charles Gassman, John Geiger, Scott Gibbert, Doreen Grischow, Michael Hand, Eric Helgeland, Deborah Hill, and Patricia Hoch.

The Illinois State Scholarship Commission gives each state scholar a certificate of merit and distributes the names of the award winners to the various colleges and universities throughout the state. These students are therefore sought by these schools for admission.
