Communications Class Presents Play
The fundamentals of communication speech class, taught by Mr. Phillip Kardasz, presented the play, "The Law Takes Its Toll," by Robert Blake yesterday during first, second, and third periods in L‑101.
The play was dual cast. The first cast performed first and third periods, and the other cast performed second period.
The play took place in Texas on April 1, 1929, 18 hours before the execution of a man in death row of the state penitentiary.
The purpose of the play was to teach the students how to communicate through the use of the fundamentals of communication along with facial expressions and body language.
Mike Rice '76 played this part during second period while John Steffan '76 played it during first and third periods.
The student directors were Gayle Breusher '76 and Mike Rice. The sound and lighting crew consisted of: Paul Ciborowski '76, Drew Newman '78, and Mark Smith '78.
The cast included: Bob Alfini '76, Bill Fininis '76, Jim Hartmann '76, Mike Holden '76, Guy Macnak '76, Jim Makris '78, Tom Marquette '76, Mark Williams '76, John Steffan, Scott Liebert, '76, Buddy Hurst '76, Pat Hartley '77, Jim Schafer '78, and John Agana '76.
This was the same play that was presented last year, but the directors and other cast members made changes and added new dimensions where they believed they were needed.
