Ptach Chosen As Outstanding Athlete
Tom Ptach is this week's outstanding Warrior athlete. Ptach is expected to break many of his own swimming records this year.
Varsity swimming Coach Scott Chovanec called him a "good leader in the water, and said that Ptach has had a consistent drop in times this year. At New Trier on Dec. 5, Ptach took second place in the 500‑yard free style.
In the same meet he took second in both the 200‑yard individual medley and the 400‑yard free style relay. Also at Highland Park Ptach won second place in all those same events.
Coach Chovanec noted hopefully that Tom Ptach is eyeing records in all these events. He said, "I'm sure he'll hit them."
