Gymnasts Defeat Niles East
The girls' gymnastics team has been doing exceptionally well so far this year. Their last two meets have been home meets. The girls competed against Glenbrook North on Dec. 4 and were defeated by a score of 91.03 to 86.00. On Dec. 10 the girls defeated Niles East by a score of 90.76 to 73.16. At this meet the girls took all the placings in every event except for uneven bars in which they took first and second places.
The girls who placed in this meet were Sandy Dolatowski, first in vaulting; Mary Kay Garhardt, second; and Jill Heiden, third uneven bars; Robin Gulder took first, and Sandy Dolatowski took second on the balance beam.
Gail Herr placed first, Sandy Dolatowski placed second, and Joan DeLaet and Maureen Mukai tied for third. In free exercise Jill Heiden took first; Dottie Galucci took second; and Nancy Cacciatore took third.
A sophomore competing on the varsity team, Sandy Dolatowski, has been doing very well this year and has shown great improvement. She competed in all four events. In her last meet against Niles East Sandy's total average was 6.86.
