Little Heroes Deserve Praise
The name of the American hero, Paul Revere, is known to everybody as a hero of our country. On the night of April 18, 1775, he rode from Boston to Concord to warn the minutemen of the approach of the British.

Unfortunately, Paul Revere never rode the entire trip to Concord. He was detained by British scouts, but a young girl in his place reached Concord in time to warn the people.

This unrecognized young girl, Sybil Ludington, at the age of 16, made the rest of the ride for 40 miles in the dark and cold of night. When she reached Concord, she cried out, "The British are coming! The British are coming! Fall out and fight," throughout the streets of town.

What our country needs to do in this Bicentennial year is to recognize and give credit to the people who helped this country.
In this year of celebration we should introduce the American heroes who have not been recognized in our history classes.

These Americans deserve credit for their contributions to this country of ours.

As the years past, we should remember the great American heroes that put us on a path to glory. The past of the United States has been in their hands, and now it has been handed down to us.

One hundred years from now, when our country celebrates our three hundredth birthday, hopefully the young people at that time will recognize the people whom we have failed to acknowledge.
