VOL. XVII, NO. 9
BY MARY GARDNER
Spring happiness is. . .
not having to bring a sweater to school every day for warmth.
being able to daydream looking out of an open window.
the Easter bunny bringing eggs with your name on them.
riding bikes.
not freezing at the bus stop in the morning.
walking from Yankee Doodle without getting frozen French fries.
getting from the parking lot to the school door without getting soaked from the slush.
not getting a snowball thrown at the back of your head whenever you walk out of a door.
leaving the car windows rolled down.
losing your hat driving around in a convertible.
Girl's Choice Dance.
going to Florida over spring vacation.
parties in the woods.
going outside for gym.
being able to look at the monkeys in the zoo, outside.
finding yourself looking forward to fire drills just to get out of the building.
eating lunch outside among Flash and his friends.
not having to worry about losing the mittens your mother so carefully looks out for.
looking forward to summer beaches.
not having to worry about your squirt gun freezing up just before you're about to give it to someone.
only another 3 and oneāhalf months to graduation.
