O.O. Students Score High
Maine West's Office Occupations Club hosted the Office Education Association State Qualifying Contests recently. All four Maine schools plus Evanston and Niles East participated. Any office occupations senior could volunteer to enter up to two contests in any of the skill areas.
The winners are as follows: Lori O'Conner, first in Accounting and Related I; Linda McJunkin, second in Accounting and Related II; Kathy Mikos, first in General Clerical II; Maureen Nelson, second in Information and Communications I; Luanne Wallin, first in Stenography II and Linda Medrano second; Luanne Wallin, first in Typing and Related I; Kathy Mikos, first in Typing and Related II and Caron Zijewski second; Gail Zarnecki, second in job interview. Maine West also won the bulletin board competition.

On Mar. 3 the winners of these contests were honored at a luncheon at the Scanda House. Following lunch these area qualifiers returned to Maine West and competed once again to determine state winners.
On March 12 and 13 area 0.0. clubs will meet at a conference at the Sheraton Chicago. Here they will announce the state winners who will compete for five days in Topeka, Kansas.
