Hmm. . . Legalize Marijuana?
By THOM O'DONNELL

Why do people fight for the legalization of marijuana? Accomplishment of this monumental task is impossible, and we should realize this.

Our state and federal legislators recognize the dangers of legalizing this evil weed. If marijuana is legalized, even for private use, virtually the entire population of this nation will be high from noon to night; and we will become a useless generation. Our elected legislators are only looking out for our future.

If marijuana is legalized, American youth will move rapidly up the drug ladder into cocaine and eventually heroin. This thought is parallel to the thought that young beer drinkers soon move on to hard liquor and eventually become tomorrow's alcoholics. Our legislators should be thanked for their patriotic concern for American youth.
Smoking marijuana, many self‑proclaimed experts have said, causes female breast growth in males. The mere embarrassment of this is much worse than the shortness of breath and possible cancer caused by smoking cigarettes.

At present, no concrete evidence has been found to classify marijuana as a truly dangerous drug, but I assure you that federal agencies will not rest until they have one way or another proved marijuana to be dangerous.

Americans should be proud to have elected such fine oligarchs to keep a watchful eye out for the good of young America.
