The Maine West basketball team ended the regular season with a 16-9 overall record and 10-4 in conference play. The Warriors hosted this year's Regional playing Rolling Meadows last Tuesday night.

On Feb. 3 the Warriors just couldn't make up for their first half mistakes and lost the Central Suburban League battle for first place to Niles West, 74-63. Buddy Doroskin led the Warriors with 18 points. The junior varsity also came away with a loss as did the freshman B team. The sophomore squad defeated the Indians 59-45 along with the freshman A team who also won by a score of 67-63.

Cold shooting by the Maine West offense accounted for Glenbrook North to upset the Warriors and ruin any title hopes by a score of 67-64. West's 6-6 center Bud Doroskin was out of action in that game. Maine West felt the loss in the middle although out-rebounding Glenbrook 32-29. All other levels came away on the short end of the Spartans, with the exception of the freshman A team who won a close one, 58-57.

The varsity cagers came back the following Friday night, Feb. 13, and downed Glenbrook South 63-59. The junior varsity won by the score of 74-34. All other levels were defeated by Glenbrook.
On Tuesday, Feb. 16, the Warriors gave an impressive demonstration of good fundamental basketball in a convincing 78-49 non-conference victory over the Arlington Cardinals. Bill Fininis scored 20 points while teammate Bob Zuccarini added another 17 for Maine West. The sophomores

Bill Fininis took full advantage of Maine West's only opportunity at second half free throws against Maine East, sinking two with seven seconds left to capture another battle of Maine schools 50-49. Adding a fine performance for the Warriors was Pete Karabas who hauled down many rebounds and notched 13 points. The sophomores and J.V.

The Warriors last game of the regular season saw them win by 11 over Niles East 66-55 on Feb. 27.

The varsity Warriors finished third in the Central Suburban League's South division behind champion Niles West and long time rival Maine South.
