Girls' Gymnast Team Shows
Perseverance
The girls' gymnastics team ended their season with the varsity having a 7-7 record and the junior varsity having an excellent season placing first in the division with an 11-1 record.

At the recent Girls' Sports Awards Night Dottie Gallucci was named captain while Sandy Dolatowski was named co‑captain of the team. The most valuable gymnast at the varsity level was Jill Heiden, and the junior varsity award went to Linda Lombardo. Mary Kay Gerhart, a varsity member, and Colleen Monahan, on the junior varsity team, both were given awards for being the most improved gymnasts on their respective teams.
Joan DeLaet, Dottie Gallucci, and Linda Loewenherz are the graduating seniors on the team which leaves open positions for the uneven bars, balance beam, and in floor exercise.

Mrs. Judy Beck, coach of the team, commented on the girls' season. "The girls have a long season, November to February; they have worked hard and improved a great deal. It takes two to three years to develop competitive skills in gymnastics."

Mrs. Beck also said, "I'd like to commend the girls on attitude and perseverance; I hope that now they are in a position to do well and will continue giving their best efforts in gymnastics.''
