Plans Underway For Jr. Prom

Are you a junior and not busy on Saturday, May 14? Would you like to visit Paradise Island? The theme of this year's prom is "One Enchanted Evening."

"One Enchanted Evening" will be held amid a Polynesian atmosphere of palm trees, grass huts, and fountains. The dance will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. with music provided by Sahara. Many preparations have been underway since the beginning of March. The overall chairmen of the prom are Joanna Gutowski and Man Muldowney.

Committees and chairmen are decorations ‑ Sue Sykora and Antoinette Russo, bids ‑ Sue Sykora and Becky Henkes, refreshments ‑ Michele Bazan and Cathy LeFeber, publicity Randy Jamieson and Dawn Balut, band ‑ Bill Hanselmann and Dan Nelson, pictures ‑ Alicia Roeder and Ann Rita Zemaitis, and tickets ‑ Ami Nyberg.

Also assisting with the preparations are the class sponsors, Mr. Keith Robinson and Miss Ruth Nickelson, and the class officers, Ellen Christ, president Dan Nelson, vicepresident; Bill Hanselmann, treasurer; Rita Brock, secretary.

Do to the reconstruction of the auditorium the prom will be held in the cafeteria. According to Joanna Gutowski, "Many students are weary about the fact that the prom will be held in the cafeteria; however, the prom committee is going all out to make this prom the best ever turned out by Maine West."

Ticket sales will begin on May 2. They will be sold during lunch periods and will also be available in the bookstore. Admission will be $5 per couple.
