West Golfers Drop Three |

| The Maine West varsity golf team continued its losing skid by dropping three more matches by close scores. All three losses came to teams in the Warrior's conference. Against Niles North the stickmen lost 164-168 on Oct. 6. George Seletos led Maine West with 40. Mike Franklin followed close behind with a 41 Gary Struck, 43 and Mike Wielgos, 44, finished the scoring. On Oct. 7 the Warriors lost 164-170 to Glenbrook South. Franklin shot a 39 to lead Maine West. George Seletos followed with a 43. Wielgos and Steve Grueter both finished up the scoring with 44. Niles East was the next team to defeat the Warriors, winning 166-175 on Oct. 12. |
Low scores for Maine West were Wielgos, 42 and Struck, 43 and Seletos shot a 45 as did Franklin. In Sophomore competition the Warrior's beat Niles North 183-190. Leading the sophomores was Jim Lindeman who shot a 40. Following him were Steve Zileox who shot 45. Ron Heyse. 48, and Mike Bock, 50. The sophomores then lost to Glenbrook South 164-170. Scoring low for the Warriors was Heyse who shot 45. Bock, Lindeman, and Zileox all followed with 46. Coming back from their loss against Glenbrook South, the sophomores beat Niles East 171-174. Zileox shot a brilliant 38 to lead the Warriors. Bock, Lindeman, and Dave Trost finished the scoring. |
