Those Bathing Beauties |
||||||||||
| By LAURA PAULIN Even Racquel Welch wouldn't look good in a girls' P.E. swimsuit. These soaking wet monstrosities are given you to pull on after you've taken a cold shower. The elastic, of course, is all gone around the legs so when you're in the water, the suits are floating up around your hips. The straps are so stretched out that if they aren't tied, they'd hang down around your elbows. The suits usually have at least one ripped seam, and some have no seams at all, just big holes. |
There are two types of suits. One kind is so stretched out it just hangs on your shoulders; and the other kind, is so tight, it takes two people to get them over your hips. The tight ones are a real joy to take off. Most people find it easiest to just roll them off. The swimsuits at Maine West weren't always this elegant. Some years ago they were different colors, so everyone in the gym class, and even the boys' swim team who might be practicing ninth period, knew what size suit you had on. It's true you can't please all of the people all of the time, but these suits please no one! |
