The 1976 Christmas Formal, "Christmas in Crystal," was held on Saturday, Dec. 11, in the auditorium. Tickets were sold for $4 in the bookstore.
Student Council sponsored the formal, and the highlight was the crowning of the Christmas queen and the presentation of her court.
Jack Cherney '77, Student Council president, crowned this year's queen Ann Frase. Her senior attendant was Kathy Rohlicek; and other members on the court included Lynn Tilton '78, Kim Marquette '79, and Lori Lowman '80.
Each class representative received a red rose, with the exception of the queen who was presented with a bouquet of white roses.
A variety of music was played by the band Mirage, including disco and a polka. Mrs. Claus and two of Santa's elves were on hand to pass out candy canes at the door.

The auditorium was decorated with garlands and red and green streamers. Bunches of mistletoe were hung in the doorway, and two Christmas trees were set up on the stage.
Refreshments of punch and cookies were served by the U and U Society, and a coat check was run by Key Club in the student cafeteria.
Kerry Jo Brown '77, vice-president of the Student Council, commented on student attendance. "This was the biggest turnout we've ever had. Everyone seemed to have a really good time."
The formal was held earlier this year because of a new policy which states the teachers will not work on the weekend of a holiday. Another factor concerning the date of the formal was the reconstruction of the auditorium stage area.
