By SHARON LANDUYT
Christmas is a time of year
When everyone is in good cheer.
Trees are lit with lights and things
With room underneath for what Santa brings.
Some have ornaments of every size
Which are sure to catch everyone's eyes.
Outside the house are Christmas lights ‑
Which brighten up our holiday nights -
All the colors of the rainbow
Surrounding each and every window.
In the houses are Christmas things
Candles, wreaths, and a bell that rings.
Many presents are under the tree
Some for you and some for me.
The favorite decor, for sure, I know
Is that little plant, the mistletoe.
All the girls are under there for cover
In hopes of finding a new, young lover.
Now that this poem's end is near
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
