Six Maine West graduates have found that their work at WMTH has helped secure related positions at the college radio stations at which they are working. These students were 1976 graduates.
David Beedy, Kevin Corcoran, David Gafrick, Mark Krieschen, Scott Peckenpaugh, and Kent Wainscott, most of whom had worked at WMTH all four years of high school, have put their previous experience to good use.
Dave Beedy, Mark Krieschen, and Dave Gafrick all attend Southern Illinois University. Dave Beedy is working as an announcer and an engineer with a third‑class license at WSIU, 91.9 FM. He presently anchors a WSIUM Sunday night news program."
Dave Gafrick does news and sports casts for WSIU. He also writes scripts for a show similar to the CBS "Mystery Theater." He has interviewed such personalities as Neil Sadaka, and he has covered such events as the Hambletonian Dirt Car Championships and the primaries.
Mark Krieschen does two morning newscasts a week. These newscasts are a half‑hour long and divided into three parts: national and international, state and local, and sports. Mark works with the state and local news.

Kevin Corcoran is presently working at Marquette University's television station as a supervisor and engineer. He also produces a TV show that is a take‑off of WTTW's "Soundstage." The title of the show is "Showcase."
Kent Wainscott attends Northern Illinois University and reports for WKDI‑FM. He has just been appointed assistant news director for WKDI. He will be responsible for covering the DeKalb County and city governments during second semester.
Scott Peckenpaugh is majoring in radio, TV, and film at Northwestern. He is presently writing in the speciality programming department at WNUR‑FM radio.
Mr. Daryl Schultz, WMTH station manager and teacher of the broadcasting classes, commented on the fine job his former students are doing. "All of us at WMTH are extremely proud of their accomplishments. We all knew that one day they would make a large contribution to their respective schools."
