Boosters Present Van

The Maine West Athletic Boosters presented a van to the school on Jan. 25. The van will be used for students and faculty activities with students having the higher priority.

Principal James Coburn gave a luncheon for the presentation for the Athletic Booster officers in the principal's conference room that day. The officers are Mr. James Karabas, president; Mrs. John Seiben, vice‑president; Mrs. Julie Tortorelli, secretary: and Mr. Victor Aslan, treasurer. Mr. Eldon Burk, Mr. John Graef, Ms. Karen Kenyon, and Mr. Richard Carlini also attended the luncheon. The officers presented Mr. Coburn with the keys to the van at that time.

The boosters borrowed the money for the van from the school board and will hold various fund raising activities to pay them back. Some fund raising activities that have already been held were a spaghetti dinner and a fruit sale.

The van is a Columbia blue 1977 Plymouth maxivan, seating 16 passengers. Any sponsored student group may use it.

About the van Mr. Coburn remarked, The Maine West boosters show real support for Maine West, and I am most appreciative of the support. When parents support a school like Maine West, it can only make a good school better. Maine West has a great group of parents."
